The African Parliamentary Network on Illicit Financial Flows and Taxation (APNIFFT), under the coordination of Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA), will convene for its 2025 Continental Conference, taking place from 13\u201315 October 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marking a decade of action against illicit financial flows (IFFs), the conference will unite MPs, civil society, and partners to address fiscal challenges, advance legal reforms, and renew commitments to transparent, citizen-focused governance. It will shape a Post-2025 Strategy, strengthen tax justice knowledge, and deliver action plans and policy recommendations for harmonised tax laws and stronger parliamentary CSO collaboration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organised under the theme: A Decade of Combating Illicit Financial Flows and Advancing Tax Justice: Reflection, Innovation, and Political Will,\u201d the conference provides a critical moment for strategic reflection, renewal of commitments, and engaging in a forward-looking dialogue on the future of the APNIFFT network. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2025 APNIFFT Continental Conference will reflect APNIFFT\u2019s achievements since its inception following the 2015 Mbeki Report, and chart a bold, strategic vision for the next phase of parliamentary leadership on tax justice in Africa. Discussions will focus on deepening domestic resource mobilisation, shaping Africa\u2019s role in global tax reform processes, including the proposed UN Tax Convention and preparing input into the G20 Summit under South Africa\u2019s presidency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This conference builds on the momentum of parliamentary action against IFFs built over the last 10 years since APNIFFT was first conceptualised. The conference hopes to respond with concrete proposals to the continent\u2019s deepening fiscal crises, heightened debt distress, and increasing calls for sustainable development models. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

TJNA remains committed to its mission to combat IFFs and foster transparency. The outcomes of this conference are expected to shape effective strategies that will pave the way for a brighter future for Africa’s economies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
